City Games: The Knjaževa team overwhelmed the opponents

The team from Knjaževac won first place at last night’s qualifiers of the City Games competition at the Banjica pool. These extremely dexterous young men and women will represent our city at the semi-final competition, which will take place on the 16th. July to be held in Loznica. The City Games event was organized in cooperation with the municipality of Knjaževac by Adriaevents agency from Croatia.

The Knjaževac team came to the Banjica pool from Sokobanja with a secured place in the semi-finals, so there was a danger that there would be no motivation for the City Games on home ground. The team members, however, immediately denied us. And then the ige started. Flying water polo, water basketball, pulling a rope from a boat…disciplines that required speed, dexterity, resourcefulness, raised adrenaline in both the competitors and the audience. In short – for the second year in a row, the Knjaževac swimming pool was full of crazy fun for both the competitors and the audience.

In the final score, the fourth position went to Prokuplje, the representatives of Niš were fifth, while the sixth was the team from Boljevac. The bronze went to Sokobanja, and the gold, as in previous years, to Knjaževčani. The easy loser was the team from Zaječar, which, by winning silver, advanced to the semi-finals thanks to the fact that Knjaževac had already secured its place.

In cooperation with the municipality of Knjaževac, City Games was organized perfectly, taking care of every detail, by the agency Adriaevents from Croatia, which has been uniting the countries of the region in entertainment and sports for a whole decade.

“This manifestation is very important to us for the promotion of our swimming pool, because we are trying to use the wealth we have in Banjica and put it to the function of local economic development,” said Branislav Josifović, head of the Cabinet of the President of the Municipality.

After the qualifications in Timok Krajina, the semi-finals of this interesting summer competition will be played on the 16th. July in Loznica.
